Socialists Rampage in Britain

Britain is a country that is broke. British lawmakers grew a pair and decided to stop the massive spending the country is engaged in and try to save their country from eventual ruin with austerity measures designed to cut spending. One of those measures is to raise tuition fees. Seems that British youths receive free or close to free college education. Now that the adults have decided to cut junior's allowance the kids are having a tantrum.

See, it appears that the youth of Britain only care about themselves. They do not care if the country can pay its bills. They don't care if the country goes broke. They only want what socialists want, and that is other people's money. They are ENTITLED to this education. Never mind how much it costs.

Today the youths are rioting. I would guess many of those rioting are not university material anyway. They just enjoy chaos. These people have attacked a car containing Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall. Classy move by these protesters. The AP reports:

British lawmakers on Thursday approved a controversial plan to triple university tuition fees by a narrow margin after some government legislators rebelled amid violent protests outside Parliament.

The plan to raise the cap on tuition fees to 9,000 pounds ($14,000) was approved, 323-302 in the House of Commons, a close vote given the government's 84-seat majority.

The tuition vote posed a crucial test for governing Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition, and for the government's austerity plans to reduce Britain's budget deficit.

Outside Parliament, police with riot shields and batons tussled with angry student protesters, keeping them away from the building.

Many in the thousands-strong crowd booed and chanted "shame" when they heard the result of the vote, and pressed against metal barriers and lines of riot police penning them in.

It makes you wonder when these type of riots will occur in the U.S. We currently don't get free education but plenty of folks get food stamps, live off welfare, live in government housing and are on extended unemployment benefits. I'm guessing many of these folks are simply unwilling to work. Some need help but many are simply moochers. They won't like losing the free stuff any more than the student rioters in Britain.
